Dr. Virginia Nsitem is a doctor of chiropractic medicine who has been serving patients in Mississauga, Ont. since 1997. She is also an educator, who enjoys sharing her knowledge and expertise with the public.
Dr. Nsitem uses interactive workshops and seminars to teach us about how to optimize our quality of life and vitality. She has reached a wide variety of audiences, including: the Ontario Dental Nurses and Assistants Association; Peel Women’s Health Network; Peel HIV an AIDS Network; the Running Room; the Caribbean Association of Peel.
She also shares her expertise through media, including appearances on Talk 640 Radio and her weekly column in Pride News Magazine, about the latest research and advances in health.
Dr. Nsitem holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Toronto; a bachelor of sciences, with honours, in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa; and a doctor of chiropractic medicine from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She is an examiner with the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board and the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada). She is also chiropractor for track and field and sports clubs in Toronto and Oakville.
Dr. Nsitem has been recognized by her peers and the community for her achievements. Her awards include the Governor’s Club Corporate Award; the Jurisprudence and Business Law Award; the Dr. Harold Beasley Award for Excellence in Jurisprudence; and the Herbert K. Lee Award. She volunteers at the Palermo Public School Parent Council and the Oakville Ballet and School of Dance.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in Ottawa, Dr. Nsitem is the mother of three girls: Kelachi, Chimele and Anyaowa.
